Lyric Soprano Lizzy Schroeder's “joy is infectious. Her ability to feed the energy of the players around her is a gift." A native of the United States, Lizzy was involved in professional community choirs and musical theatre productions from the age of 7. She then went on to Loras College in Iowa, where she double majored in Music Performance and Education.

Lizzy completed her Master of Music in Vocal Performance at Roosevelt University’s Conservatory Chicago College of Performing Arts in 2021. While at CCPA, Lizzy sang the roles of Maguelonne in Viradot’s Cenderillion and Mm. Silberklang in Mozart’s Der Schauspieldirektor. Throughout Chicago, Lizzy sang in Masterclasses with Lyric Opera Music Director, Craig Terry, performed as a soloist in Handel's Messiah, and contributed to concerts on Marginalized Composers, under the direction of Dana Brown.

 

 From 2021-2022, Lizzy studied within the international University of York's Vocal Studies program. She worked as a Soprano Choral Scholar at Leeds Cathedral, where she had the opportunity to sing as the Soprano soloist for Durufle's Requiem Mass and Mozart's Mass in C Minor. During the 2021-2022 season, Lizzy has covered the role of Adina with Opera Viva in The Elixir of Love and sang the role of Dot with LYO's The Enchanted Pig by Dove.

In May of 2022, Lizzy performed in Sweeney Todd at Buxton Opera House's Festival as Johanna. The production was under the direction of West-End director Paul Kerryson.

In November 2023, Lizzy joined the Gilbert & Sullivan Very Light Opera Company in their production of H.M.S. Pinafore. In Summer 2024, Lizzy joined the same company in a performance of Mozart's Requiem. 

​

In Summer 2024, Lizzy performed as Marian Paroo in Meredith Wilson's The Music Man in the Twin Cities.

 

In Fall of 2024, Lizzy will be singing as a Contracted Soprano in two concert series with the Minnesota Chorale. 

​

In Winter of 2024, Lizzy will play Maria Rainer in The Sound of Music in Minneapolis. 

​

Lizzy is a devoted educator and music director who has worked as a general music educator and Church music director, in addition to her vocal pursuits. Currently, Lizzy Schroeder owns her own business, Singing with Lizzy, as a private voice teacher. She, also, works as the Director of Liturgy and Music within the Archdiocese of Saint Paul-Minneapolis.
